The goal of CAMEO is to continuously evaluate the accuracy and reliability of protein structure prediction servers, e.g. tertiary and quaternary structure prediction, and model quality estimation services in a fully automated manner. We invite all server developers to register their services to CAMEO.

Requirements:

In order to be included in CAMEO-3D - Structures & Complexes, a structure prediction server must fulfill the following technical requirements:

  • The server accepts sequences (in FASTA or raw format) as input via a web submission form (e.g. cgi) (Note: If your server is registered for the CASP experiment, it already fulfills all technical requirements and you can use the same technology for CAMEO).
  • The service is in continuous operation (24/7), and is able to handle a reasonable number of requests submitted through this interface.
  • The service predicts 3-dimensional protein structures in PDB or mmCIF format; results are returned by email.
  • Only 1 model per target will be included in the aggregated score. If a server returns more than one model, only the first model will be used for compiling aggregate scores.
  • Variations of a service (e.g. longest model vs. best template) should to be registered individually.
CAMEO is a benchmarking experiment. We do not predict protein structures.
Only fill this form if you are the developer of the prediction server you are attempting to register.
You can validate your server here

Submission parameters To submit targets, CAMEO will make an HTTP request to the URL above. In this section you can customize what HTTP parameters (or variable names in CGI terms) will be used to make the request.
Which HTTP parameter should CAMEO use to specify the request or job title? The title is only useful for debugging or tracking purposes. You don't need to do anything with this data.
Which HTTP parameter should CAMEO use to specify the amino acid sequence?
Which HTTP parameter should CAMEO use to specify the DNA sequence?
Leave this field empty if your server cannot model DNA.
Which HTTP parameter should CAMEO use to specify the RNA sequence?
Leave this field empty if your server cannot model RNA.
Which HTTP parameter should CAMEO use to specify the free (non polymer) ligands, aka small molecules?
Leave this field empty if your server cannot model free ligands.
Which HTTP parameter should CAMEO use to specify the email address your server should return the prediction to?
Please specify here any additional parameters that should be part of the request, e.g. method=fast&format=new
Target selection This section allows you to customize which types of targets you would like CAMEO to send to your server.
Does your server support heteromeric targets?
If you select "No", you will only receive monomeric and homo-oligomeric targets containing a single sequence. You will not receive single sequences from hetero-oligomeric targets.
What type of targets would you like to receive?
See the help page for more information about the types of targets that are available.

Submission options Here are a few extra options controlling the details of how the data will be submitted to your server and that you can customize.
Whether you want to receive the sequence in Fasta format (with header/identifier line) or as "bare" strings (for heteromeric submissions, the parameter will be repeated, such as sequence=SEQUENCE1&sequence=SEQUENCE2, to form a list).
Select Unprocessed to receive non-canonical residues in round brackets in the sequence, as in the mmCIF _entity_poly.pdbx_seq_one_letter_code item.
For example, KEGVL(PTR)VGSK indicates a phosphotyrosine at position 6, and would be sent as KEGVLYVGSK in canonical format.
If the server accepts ligands, in which format?
For submissions with multiple ligands, the parameter will be repeated, such as ligand=ATP&ligand=CA, to form a list.

By registering your service in CAMEO, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined below.

Terms and conditions:

  • Liability disclaimer: CAMEO is not responsible for any problems on your server. This includes overloading the system or any other technical problems.
  • CAMEO will publicly display the results of your service in the context of other results and will apply computational tools on the results provided by your server, including, but not limited to, structure and model comparison tools and model quality assessment.
  • CAMEO reserves the right to exclude services with continued technical problems, low availability, or format problems.
  • When publishing any results obtained from the CAMEO server, you agree to cite the appropriate references (see the list on the home page). Evaluation of “private” or “development” servers is provided exclusively for development purposes. You acknowledge that such results can only be published after marking the complete dataset as “public” on CAMEO.
  • Copyright: You confirm that all predictions provided by your server to CAMEO are considered to be provided under the CC BY-SA 4.0 Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License, i.e. you can copy and redistribute the models in any medium or format, transform and build upon the models for any purpose, even commercially, under the following terms:
    • Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use. When you publish, patent or distribute results that were fully or partially based on models obtained from CAMEO, please cite the corresponding papers (see below).
    • ShareAlike — If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original.
    • No additional restrictions — you may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.
